I normally don't blog on a sunday but this is something special! I heard this song today by the lady who sang the special ( you know before the pastor gets up to speak ) and the song she sang was beautiful! It really spoke to me! It's called "Empty Me" by Chris Sligh. I've heard it before on the radio but it wasn't until today that the words of the song just kinda clicked and I understood! It's what I want my God to do of me... empty me of everything that is in the way of serving Him and living for Him! Because it's not about me or about the world or any other person! It's about HIM!! I am going to post the lyrics below and then post a special video so that you can hear the song! This song is going to be my prayer for the week! LORD, empty me of me so that I can be filled with YOU!!!
Here are the lyrics they are also on the video too...

-EMPTY ME -
I've had just enough of the spotlight
when it burns bright
to see how it gets in the blood,
and I've tasted my share of the sweet life
and the wild ride,
and found a little is not quite enough.
I know how I can stray
and how fast my heart could change.
Empty me
of the selfishness inside
every vain ambition and the poison of my pride
and any foolish thing my heart holds to.
Lord empty me of me
so I can be
filled with You.
I've seen just enough of the quick buys
of the best lies
to know how prodigals could be drawn away.
I know how I can stray
and how fast my heart could change
Empty me
of the selfishness inside,
every vain ambition the poison of my pride,
and any foolish thing my heart holds to.
Lord empty me of me
so I can be
filled with You.
'Cause everything is a lesser thing
compared to you, compared to you
'Cause everything is a lesser thing
compared to you so I surrender all.
Empty me
of the selfishness inside
every vain ambition and the poison of my pride.
Empty me
of the selfishness inside
every vain ambition and the poison of my pride
and any foolish thing my heart holds to.
Lord empty me of me
so I can be
Lord empty me of me
so I can be
filled with You
filled with You
Empty me
