Sometimes you just have to keep living and let go of all the fears, worries and things that may try to hold you back. There is a saying that says, "Let go and let God!" It may not be easy and you might try hard to change the situation you are in, but sometimes you just have to go through this season in your life and find strength for each day. God will give you strength if you ask Him and He will provide the peace you need. It doesn’t require much for you to enjoy life and to be happy, but you have to take the first step and sometimes this can be the hardest part for people. We have to be strong though and we can’t be timid. We must be bold and have faith in God. Never give up. Reach for the stars. Chase your dreams. Climb the ladder of success. All of these things that our teachers told us when we were in Elementary, back when we had a big imagination and the world was a magical place. But then reality hit hard when we reached Middle and High School. All of our dreams began to fade, friends became harder to find, and the stars were harder to reach. I guess that’s what happens when you grow up.
What happened to the big world that seemed so great when we were kids? Now life seems to be about trying to please others and make ourselves happy and content. We try to please our family, friends, professors, boss, co-workers, and the list goes on and on. But what about trying to please God? Where does that come in? Is it at the top of our list, to please our Creator? Probably not. But why? He is the One that created our very image and the one that knows our name, our heart, the number of hairs on our head, and everything about each one of us individually. Yet some days we don’t even give Him a minute of our time. What happened to the... “Thanks for the air I’m breathing,” “Thanks for a new day,” or “Thanks for loving me.” Nope. We say that we are living this busy life and we don’t have time for that. No time to sit still and talk to our Savior. We have things to do and places to go. God can wait.
People what are we doing? Can you see how selfish we have become? We live in a self-centered world and our attitude needs to change. We, as believers of a mighty God, need to take a stand and be different. We need to stand out from everyone else and stop trying to blend in. This world is not our home so we need to stop acting like it is. We don’t belong here. We are just passing through. Wake up and listen. God is crying out to you and He wants you to return to Him. He’s waiting with his loving arms open wide to you. So stop procrastinating and go run to Him. He loves you so much and He wants a relationship with you. You are His child.
Jesus, awaken our hearts. Stir in us a new passion, a new fire, and longing for You. May we be renewed by Your Holy Spirit. May we fill Your presence and Your love. May we look for Your signs each day. May we see the small things that you give us and praise You with thanksgiving. When the rain comes, may we be thankful and see it as Your blessing because we know that the rainbow is coming. When a stranger smiles at us, may we see this as a sign of Your kindness and love. May we look for you in every situation and every moment of our lives because we know that you are there with us. You promised to never leave us or abandon us Lord, so help us to trust in You. When life gets hard help us to seek You for strength and find encouragement in Your Word. Help us not to turn to the world for help because we are just wasting our time. May our first response be to turn to You. For You are the answer to all of our problems and there is no one who can comfort or give us peace like You do. What an awesome God You are. Praise Your Holy Name. Thank You, Jesus. May we live for You and only You. Amen.
